I will never learn to understand Americans (and their way of suing each other). At times it feels like they are just pulling numbers and lies out of their asses.

Ahh American system, where people go suing a company after they threw their cat in the microwave, because they didn't specify that that isn't an option for sid microwave.. You've done it again America you sly devil..

I guarantee it never went to court. Its always cheaper to settle out. Which is still wrong in my opinion. You should have to prove things like this. Why not a smaller cheaper faster court, for non criminal disputes like this?

Whats the story behind this? Was there something dangerous that caused the guy to break his hip and it was actually Walmarts fault?

Media outlets like to change the wording to a story to make it sound ridiculous. Like the woman that was burnt by her McDonalds coffee. She dropped the cup in her lap and got third degree burns. She sued because in no reasonable case should a cup of coffee be hot enough to burn you like that.

Basically when Zeus becomes a lawyer, “Can I sue this? Perhaps.”

Something Ive learned actually searching for this kind of stories, is that this kind of explanations are insanely simplified. I dont care enogih to investigate this, but I guarantee you this has more nuances than you think
